KN: a powerful, complete approach to condensing efficiency
The way condensing commercial appliances are looked at today calls for a highly specialized way to engineer and assemble them: enter the KN-Series high efficiency boiler from HydroTherm. With a patented design unlike the tubular-based, first generation condensing boilers, the KN matches up to real world applications in unprecedented ways. See for yourself the new direction KN is leading to address the demands of today’s high efficient commercial hydronics market.
Product Family
Innovation sized to meet the modern day requirements of low fuel utilization, high efficiency, longevity and the small footprint demands of today’s condensing commercial boiler market. KN-Series Boilers are available from 200MBH to 2000MBH.
Condensing Cast Iron Performance
KN-Series boilers represent revolutionary engineering. The world’s first boiler to pair condensing performance with cast iron’s durability. No other boiler can match it point for point when it comes to set-up, maintenance, and long-lasting performance. Not one.
All KN-Series cast iron sections are manufactured in the USA for durability and longevity by people with generations of foundry and manufacturing expertise in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. All castings have precision machined ports for water tight joint seals and are rated at 100psi of working pressure. KN-Series boilers retain valuable latent energy heat for maximum efficiencies.
Boiler/System Piping Versatility
The KN-Series patented cast iron sections—in combination with its custom-engineered, onboard controls—accommodate a wider range of piping and water flow conditions than any other material or technology available. KN-Series boilers are capable of variable volume water flow up to 10:1 range through the durable heat exchanger. Units have low pressure drops through the heat exchanger and are capable of delta T’s of 20-100° with single pump system piping (reverse return) or primary/secondary piping. Competitive units typically have delta T’s in the 20-40° range due to high pressure drops and are not capable of single pump piping. KN-Series boilers have no inlet water temperature limitations and are the perfect unit for one of the fastest growing segments for hydronic heating: snow melt and radiant applications. All KN-Series boilers carry a 21-year thermal shock warranty.
HeatNet On Board
Developed and manufactured by Hydrotherm’s sister company, Mestek Technologies, HeatNet provides an intuitive interface with plug-and-play connections to speed the set-up and diagnostic process for installing contractors. HeatNet is capable of operating KN units as single boilers or multi-boiler Master/Member networks of up to 16 boilers. It can also provide constant communication to a Building Management System to enable multi-function control of boilers, pumps, valves, louvers/dampers, hot water storage tanks, and outdoor reset. HeatNet maximizes performance while eliminating the need for a third party wall-mounted control platform.
